Car Parking Information

We have recently changed the layout of the car park. We now have a Staff only area and a Patient only area. This has increased the number of spaces for patients to 6, including 1 disabled bay.  If the car park is full there is alternative parking nearby at Sainsburys, Maryport Street, Monday Market Street or Sidmouth Street.

Thank you very much in advance for your co-operation in this matter.

St James Surgery

PRACTICE STAFF

In 2009 St James Surgery became a training practice, and, at the same time, Dr Martin Foley was accredited as a trainer.

St James Surgery will be training a number of qualified doctors over the coming years.  The trainees are at different stages of their post-graduate education, and will be answerable to Dr Martin Foley, in the first instance.

Dr Tony Downey will continue to teach undergraduate medical students during their attachment with St James Surgery

Community Nurses

The Clinical Commissioning Group employs community nurses who provide skilled nursing care to those patients who are housebound. This includes chronic illness, wound management, palliative and terminal care. They work alongside the surgery team and hospital-based nurses, in order to plan and deliver the care needed.

Health Visitors

Health visitors are registered nurses with additional training in preventative care, health promotion and child health for those under the age of five. Health visitors can offer advice, information and support about a range of issues. Health visitors visit at home to talk in private and also run child health clinics and parents and baby groups. Health visitors can be contacted on 01380 732565.

The Health vistors have been based at Devizes Community Hospital since 2011 and hold a clinic there each Tuesday between 1.00 and 2.30pm.

Counsellors

Counsellors visit the surgery twice a week. Self referral is to be made by the patient.
