LEG CLUB
Devizes Leg Club and COVID-19
16th March 2020
In the light of efforts being made to limit the spread of the Corona Virus, we have today made the following decision.
With immediate effect, only patients requiring leg ulcer treatments, or treatments of an ongoing leg condition, will be offered an appointment at the Devizes Leg Club. These appointments will be pre-booked directly with the patient who will be offered an appointment with one of the Leg Club Clinicians. We will be suspending the ‘turn up and wait’ service until further notice.
Patients that are offered an appointment are encouraged to arrive at their allocated time and, where possible, not to arrive early or late.
Leg washes will no longer be available. Patients are advised to make alternative arrangements to maintain their legs, perhaps enlisting the support of family members or friends to assist where possible. If a patient experiences any deterioration in the condition of their legs, they should telephone Karen Fletcher on the above number who will arrange for their leg to be assessed by a Clinician at the Leg Club.
For the time being, Dopplers will still be available through pre-booked appointments only.
Refreshments will not be available as we will be limiting the number of volunteers at the Club.
These arrangements are subject to change pending advice from the Government/ Public Health England. We will endeavour to keep you updated as best as we can but if you have any concerns and or require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us:
By Phone: 01380 812500
By email: karen.fletcher3@nhs.net or justine.bland@nhs.net
We will update the surgery websites with any changes and would encourage you to check your surgery website for updates.
We would like to thank you for your support in working with us to reduce the risk of infection.
